NSS Conventions
The National Speleological Society hosts a convention each summer. Come join your fellow cavers for a week of conference talks, salons, caving trips, and social events. The conventions are organized and run by a team of hard-working volunteers each year to keep your cost as low as possible.

2024 NSS Convention: Sewanee, TN
2023 NSS Convention: June 26-30
The 2023 NSS Convention will be held in Elkins, West Virginia. The sessions and vendors will be located at Davis and Elkins College. We were there in 1983 and they are delighted to have us back. Camping will be at The Robertson Association (TRA/OTR) site nearby.

2022 NSS Convention: June 13-17
The 2022 NSS Convention was held in Custer, South Dakota. The Chair was Dan Austin.
2021 NSS Convention: July 24-30 Virtual
The NSS 2021 Convention was held virtually July 24-30. It was originally scheduled to be held in person in Weed, California.
2020 NSS Convention: Virtual
The NSS 2020 convention was held virtually due to the pandemic, and most of the presentations and talks are available on the NSS YouTube channel. The talks are organized into playlists with the prefix "NSSCon2020".

Volunteer to Organize a Convention
The NSS has a well-established process for hosting and organizating a convention. Each year's convention is organized by a new team, so please consider putting together a team to run an upcoming convention. Convention teams and dates are established years in advance, so plan ahead.
