Welcome to the WVU Student Grotto!

The WVU Student Grotto is a caving organization located at West Virginia University in Morgantown, West Virginia.

Our Mission

The Mission of the WVU Student Grotto is to promote safe and responsible caving to the students of West Virginia University and to further both the sport of caving and the scientific study of caves.

Meetings

Meetings take place every Wednesday at 8:00PM, room 202 Hodges Hall of WVU's downtown campus during the school year. Check our calendar for other events.

White-Nose Syndrome

The WVUSG is dedicated to ensuring that the actions of cavers do not contribute to the natural spread of white-nose syndrome in bats. We feel that education and strict compliance with proven decontamination procedures are the most effective way to combat possible human spread of WNS, and have instituted a mandatory decon policy for all Grotto trips. The Grotto will respect all WNS cave closures.
