The Spencer Mountain Grotto is a group of cavers in the TAG (Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia) area who are into the exploration of caves. We are chartered by the National Speleological Society. It is the only national organization that is dedicated to the exploration, conservation, and study of caves and the areas around them. We also abide by this dedication as well as other grottos that are chartered with the NSS. The motto of the NSS is "Take only pictures, Kill nothing but time, Leave Nothing but footprints." Every good caver stands by this motto and follows them to the best of his ability.
