WHAT AGE GROUPS CAN GO CAVING?

Girl Scout Daisies and Brownies are prohibited from wild caving. However, they are eligible to enjoy exploring a commercial cave.

Girl Scout Juniors and above are eligible to explore wild caves. However, it is up to the individual council to determine which age groups they will allow to go caving. In some Girl Scout councils, girls need to be at least 12 years old to go wild caving. Individual Junior, Cadette, Senior and Ambassador troops wishing to participate in a wild caving expedition should consult the Girl Scouts' Safety-Wise for guidance on planning their caving trip.

NOTE: It is the Leader's responsibility to ensure all Safety Wise guidelines are followed regarding group leadership, planning and safety.
