Abstract

The troglophilic land snail, Carychium exile Lea, is reported from two caves in southern Indiana. This translucent, small gastropod is widespread in epigean habitats of the southeastern United States but is found also in food-rich areas of caves. Prior to its discovery in Indiana caves this small snail was known only from Alabama, Kentucky, and Tennessee caves.
