We arrived at the cave at 11AM and set out into the cave with 2 teams to pick up survey in the northeastern end of Equality. The two teams worked in adjacent areas, one on the valley side of the cave and the other on the hill side, and closed loops as they went. Steve Taylor and JoAnn Jacoby arrived about 2PM and with Philip Moss went to the southwestern end of the cave to pick up on survey there. Survey continued until 8PM and all three teams left the cave to return to Teal Pond for dinner and a campfire (with toasted marshmallows – thanks Annika!). Of note, is that this was the first time on a cave survey for Annika, and only her second cave.

ISS sponsered projects are open to all cavers at all skill levels. If you are interested in participating in future ISS events, contact Jack Wood or John Lovaas to find out more.

Total cave footage to date is 4473 feet (1.36km), with 94 loops. Total survey footage for the weekend was 639 feet.
