Stemler Cave Survey - March 8, 2008

The Stemler Mapping Project Report- March 8, 2008

Several ISS cavers converged at Stemler Cave on March 8, 2008 to
continue the survey of this important Illinois cave. It was a chilly
day, but three teams entered the cave and pushed the survey to beyond
the second side passage.

Teams were surveying using the leap frog method where each started the
survey progressively further into the cave. Unfortunately the middle
team was not able to reach the next survey and left a hanging survey
(not attached to any other survey). Future trips will need to complete
the middle survey and finish the downstream end of the cave to the sump.

Participants:

A. Addison
L. Arnold
J. Kern
D. Lamping
B. Osburn
R. Sawyer
E. Slack
J. White
J. Wood
