1. Introduction of Directors and Officers.

2. Moss moves: The minutes of the March 28, 2003 meeting are approved. Taylor seconded. For: the rest Abstain: Vernarsky
3. Treasurer’s Report – Jim Sherrell - $262.04 4. Membership Report – Jack Wood ~30 members Sherrell moves: Jim Sherrell and Jack Wood will mail a 2005 dues notice to the members. Taylor seconded. For: unanimous
5. Report on data requests - President Aaron Addison was granted data for a request that was pending at the last meeting. 6. Report on Shawnee Forest Project – Jack Wood reported on three project weekends: Wildcat Hills, heavy rain one weekend, some cave mapping,
Old Business 7. Wood moves: The operations protocol for the Shawnee Forest Project is adopted. (the protocol follows the minutes) Taylor seconds. For: Unanimous
8. INPC permit application for Fogelpole Cave cleanup – Jim Sherrell didn’t apply this year, will do so for next year.
9. Steve Taylor has filed IL non-profit annual report.
New Business 10. Elections
10a. Nomination and election of the Data Request Committee (three members). Taylor nominates Gary Resch. Wood nominates Taylor. Taylor nominates Jack Wood. Colburn moves to close nominations. Sherrell seconds. Unanimous. Approved by acclamation.
The Data Request Committee is composed of Gary Resch, Steve Taylor, and Jack Wood.
10b. Nomination and election of a Vice-President. Schmitt previously nominated Wood. Resch moved nominations be closed. Sherrell seconded. Unanimous. Jack Wood was accepted by acclamation.
11. Wood moves: The member applicants listed below are confirmed as ISS members. Frank Wilhelm John Lovaas Dawn Ryan Colburn seconds. For: Unanimous.
11a. Wood nominates Alan Sankowski, Cindy Sankowski, and Mike Vernarsky as ISS members. Colburn seconds Vernarsky abstains. For: the rest.
Wood moves: John Lovaas is a member of the Shawnee Forest Project Committee. Resch seconds.

Wood moves: Jack Wood will fundraise to purchase a computer for the use of the Shawnee Karst Project of the ISS. Taylor seconds.

12. Moss moves: The next meeting will be held at Dixon Springs Agriculture Center on February 27, 2005 at 10:00. Sherrell seconds. For: unanimous.

Presentation by Mike Vernarsky: Life History and Population Genetics of the Endangered Illinois Cave Amphipod, Gammarus acherondytes.
Discussion of ways to increase participation in the Shawnee Forest Karst Project. Discussion of ways to increase political participation in the ISS.
Presentation by Steve Taylor on foraging patterns of crickets at Ft. Hood, TX.
Philip Moss turned in about 55 new karst feature locations for the Monroe County area and 22 geo-referenced line plots of caves. Dan Lamping turned in five cave locations and one cave map. Tony Schmitt turned in six cave locations.
