ISS ArcView Training

This will
be in conjunction with an ISS meeting (Saturday, April 13, 11:00 am). Both
events will be located at the Illinois State Museum Collections center,
located at 1011 E. Ash, Springfield, IL.
- What: ArcView for Cavers
- When: Sunday April 14th 8am - when all of the questions are answered.
- Where: Illinois State Museum Collection Center (1011 E. Ash, Springfield, IL):
Coming from the south, the best way to get there is to take 55 North into
Springfild and take the 6th street exit (on the left). Follow 6th street
several miles to Ash (Steak and Shake on the corner), and turn right. Go
approximately 1 block, cross the railroad tracks and make a left. The
collection center is immediately on your right, but the entrance to the
parking lot is about halfway down the block.
- Cost: $25 / each (100% of fee will go to the Karst Conservancy of Illinois)
- What do you get for your money?: Instruction manual, CD with practice data, 1 day of ArcView instruction.

Description:
This will be a ArcView 3.x training class that has been customized for cavers. The class will start with an introduction to the software and then work through exercises that address many of the common things that cavers like to do with data and maps.
Learn how to:
- Download data straight from a GPS to ArcView
- Import USGS topographic maps
- Overlay cave survey data
- Combine data from different sources
- Link cave data to outside databases
- Send your data to colleagues
- Make your own custom layers
- Many more topics.....
This class will be full of information so come ready to learn!
