Meeting Minutes (4/18/2012)

Meeting called to order by Chairman Jeremy Browning at 8:03pm


Treasurers Report: 

- Same as last week


Vertical Practice:

- If anyone wants to do a vertical practice tomorrow starting around 5-5:30pm let Jeremy know. The location is to be determined.


Old Business:

- No progress on the newsletter.

- SGA grant gear was purchased. We now have 4 new Princeton Tech Apex's, biners, 5 D-rings, and oval mallions. The total spent was $498.68.


New Business:

- Elections are next week! YOU MUST BE PRESENT IN ORDER TO BE VOTED FOR!!

- Nominees are Andrew for Chairman, Ginny for Vice Chairman, Stephany for Secretary, and Brady for Treasurer.

- Randolph County trip is this weekend and we'll be going to Stillhouse and the Sinks of Gandy on Saturday and on Sunday we'll bounce Shreave Howl pit and help the Mon Grotto with their Adopt a Highway project. We'll be staying at Jeremy's and there will be a bonfire.

- If you pay for a TRA membership you get whatever you pay deducted off of OTR.


Trip Reports:

- John Harman went to the Bat Ranch a couple weeks ago to do some Highlan County, VA caving. He went to Clover Hollow, Pig Hole, etc. John suggested the student grotto go down for a nice vertical trip. There are multiple 100+ pits.

- Dave Riggs went to Shoveleater this weekend and spent 10 hours messing around in a crack. Corey Hackley went through some really sketchy stuff and Dave had to reel him back. Corey found the source of water that another crew had been hearing.

- John Harman went to Memorial Day last weekend and broke 20 miles of surveyed passage and went to the 2nd highest point in the cave. John then drew a diagram showing what he did and told some interesting stories.

- April 20-22nd (this weekend) Randolph County trip

April 27-29: Spring VAR

- June 25-29: NSS convention

- June 26: Student Reception

- July 31: TRA applications due

- August 30 - September 1: OTR
