Meeting Minutes 12 October 2011

The meeting was called to order at 8:03 by Chairman Allen Dove

There were in 9 people in attendance.

Treasurers Report

• Current account balance $934.34
• A list has been assembled for the student grant and will be given to John Tudek ASAP

Vertical Practice

• There are 3 to 4 people that will be ready for the Harpers Pit trip on Sunday, November 6, 2011.
• A night rappel is a possibility within the next month to help prepare for the first vertical trip.

Old Business

• A trip was lead by John Harmon and Abby Hohn to mystic cave on October 9, 2011. They did two through trips starting at the middle of the cave.
• Kyle McMillan lead a trip into Norman Cave with some friends down in Fayetteville over the weekend of October 8-9, 2011.
• Allen Dove went to Alleghany County in Maryland and surveyed some new cave passage.

New Business

• The grotto has decided to work a football game in order to raise the Funds for the grotto. The game that the grotto has selected to work is the Louisville game on November 5, 2011. Jeremy has volunteered to contact CJ Culliton for more information about signing up.
• There will be a Fright Farm trip on the October 19, 2011 instead of a meeting. The meeting place will be lot 7 at 7 pm.
• The Mt. Kanocti video was added to the grotto library.
• The WCC banquet will be held on the second weekend of November in Lewisburg. Anyone interested in attending should contact John Tudek for more information. 

Notable Dates

• Bridge Day is October 15, 2011 at New River Gorge. Please come out to support the grotto members who are participating at Bridge Day and enjoy everything New River Gorge has to offer.
• The first Vertical trip will be to Harpers Pit on November 6, 2011. If you are interested in coming on the trip you must be checked off by Jeremy after having shown that you are ready by attending vertical practices. Please come to vertical practices so that everyone who wants to attend is able to.
