Meeting Minutes 21 September 2011
Meeting called to order by Chairman Allen Dove at 8:01 pm

Vertical Practice
- John Harman held vertical practice at the Fire Tower at Spruce Recreation Area on Sunday, September 18, 2011. 6 people attended. A treadmill was set up along with a rappel line and zip line.
- Vertical Practice was held on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at the climbing wall. 3 people attended.
Treasurers Report
- $720.34 in the Bank and $150.00 dollars will be deposited from dues that have been paid thus far.
- Those who have not paid dues and for beginners weekend please do so ASAP
Old business
- John Tudek is working on the student grant. Some possible uses for the grant that still need to be decided:
-cabins for winter weekend trip
-4th set of vertical gear
-possible TAG trip
- John Tudek went over pictures from beginners weekend
- Allen Dove talked about his trip to new trout cave
New Business
- Next Wednesday we will have the final details of the WVACS trip.
- Dr. Harry will be coming in to talk to the grotto to talk about cave diving
- The grotto has decided that at least 1 football game should be worked for funds to go towards goals not covered by the grant.
Notable Dates
- Vertical Practice will be held on Monday, September 26 and Wednesday, September 28 at 5:30 pm. Please check the list serv for updates on location and other possible changes or cancellations.
- Bridge Day is October 15, 2011 at New River Gorge. Please come out to support the grotto members who are participating at Bridge Day and to have fun.
- October 1st Horizontal Cave Trip to WVACS to Norman Cave. We will drive down Saturday Morning and stay the night. Meet at the coliseum at 8:00 am and stay the night at the field station Saturday night.
