Anyone who stayed at the cabin that weekend is being asked to help John Harman out with paying this extra charge, probably only about $10 a person. - John Harman no longer owes his $10 because of this extra charge Old Business Rancho Relaxo Weekend - Gayle Suppa talked to Mike Dore about a Scotts Hollow trip for the Grotto and was granted permission as long as regulations were followed. Specifically, non-NSS members are allowed in the cave as long as they are lead by an NSS member and that all persons are orientated to caves and caving. The regulations can be posted to the listserve. This is basically a horizontal cave with a few fun ladders. Library - Dave Riggs is still waiting on the person currently in possession of the Grotto library to get back from a conference. - John Tudek is still waiting on contact from the kindly person in Arizona to get back to him with an inventory of what they will be willing to give to the Grotto Grant Proposal - Abby Hohn and Gayle Suppa will be working on writing and editing the grant proposal over the winter break - It will be presented at the first meeting of next semester, 13 January 2010 Gear - Abby Hohn will be collecting all gear at her apartment to be inventoried for the next meeting. If you have any of the Grotto's gear please get with her to return it. - The gear will then be stored in Dave Rigg's basement, but please get a hold of Abby Hohn for access Terra Incognito - Ben Mirable has assented to writing a trip report for Simmons-Mingo New Business Vertical Practice - Kyle McMillan proposed that a standing appointment for vertical practice should be suspending until next semester, since everyone is so busy right now. A standing appointment will be made for next semester. - Anyone who would like to do vertical practice between now and then should post to the listserve and arrangements can very easily be made. Terra Incognito - Terra Incognito was favorably reviewed in the NSS newsletter Trip Reports - Alan Dove explored two caves in Pendleton County, Bear Den Cave and Rats Nest Cave. He also surveyed these at about 33ft and 120ft - John Harman, Dave Riggs, Chris C., and Tim B. spent an awesome 14 hours in Memorial Day Cave this past weekend. They explored a few leads off Columbia Passage and finished the Knife Dome climb started in September. They found only a small alcove where they were hoping was some walking passage. They also explored a portion of the monstrously large Pinnacle Room. - John Harman also went into Shoveleater to help collect some gear Meeting adjourned at 8:42pm
