Trip Reports Carpenter-Swaygo: David Weichsel -David Weichsel, Jeremy Browning, Krista Tindall, John Harman, Abby Hohn, and Garth Dixon rappelled Carpenter-Swaygo this past weekend. It was David, Jeremy, and Krista's first vertical cave. John Harman and Ben Mirable had rigged both entrances, one drop on the Swaygo side and the first three drops on the Carpenter side, the night before. Everyone dropped into the Carpenter side first, and then the Swaygo side, although some did elect to not do the last drop. The cave involved a couple waterfalls and a good time for all. Roadside Pit -John Harman and Dave Riggs also bounced Roadside Pit after the Carpenter-Swaygo trip Simmons-Mingo: Rachel McCormick -Dave Riggs, Ben Mirable, and Rachel McCormick went to Simmons-Mingo cave while the others did Carpenter-Swago. It was a really dry cave, as they didn't go down to the stream passage, with a lot of breakdown and some cool things to see such as the Claw. There were also quite a few bats: Pips, Little Browns, and one Northern Long Ear. It was a really good time. Meeting adjourned by Chairperson Abby Hohn at 8:44p This is the first time I've ever done meeting minutes, so if there is any problems with them please let me know, as I have been asked to do them for the rest of the semester while Jay is out for her surgery. I hope they're adequate. Thanks. Rachel McCormick
