September 16, 2009

Meeting called to order at 8:05 by Chairperson Abby Hohn

FINANCIAL REPORT:  $419.37
- Gayle is updating the banking
- Tom will reimburse himself for beginners weekend camping

WV CAVER
-Bill was not paid at OTR.
-Tom Lilly will contact Mike Bodkin to get amount and to change the address our bill comes to.

FUNDRAISING: 
-Colorado Football Game Oct 1st (Thursday)
      We must let them know 3-5 days before game.
      Rally time is a couple hours before kickoff.
      We will send out more info closer to the game.

BEGINNERS WEEKEND
- Date: September 18th – 20th 
-$10 for just the weekend, $20 for dues and the weekend, or $15 just for dues
- We will meet at 5pm at the Coliseum (Side closes to the Arboretum) 
-Kyle will bring his laptop to do the trip report when they are finished caving
- Cave: Sharp's Cave
- Burgers and hotdogs will be served Saturday night.
	Jay and Gayle will go to Sam's Club for food and batteries.
	Jay will stop by John Tudek's house to get the cooler

VERTICAL PRACTICE
- Every Wednesday at the Rec. Center Climbing Wall at 5pm
- Gayle will finish the display poster or Vertical Practice

TERRA INCOGNITO
- We will add new categories (Suggestions:)
	Stats section
		Person with most hours underground 
	Cave trips
	More trip reports
	OTR summery on events by Gayle and Kyle
	Beginners Section

GROTTO WEB PAGE
- David Riggs will add a Blog for people to enter trip reports

TRIPS
- Weekend of October 3rd
	Mystic and Via Ferrata
	Kyle will check on camping
	
CAVING POLICY
- Gayle will edit the policy

GRANT
- What does the grotto want to spend it on?
	Potential ideas:
		Camping Gear
		Tent poles (supporting structure)
		New ropes

Grotto T-shirts are on sale 

We will be working on getting the Grotto Library moved to John Tudek's space

WVU President complimented the Grotto News Letter (Terra Incognito)
	Good job Abby

September 30th we will do a Memorial Day presentation during the meeting

TRIP REPORT
-George gave a report about Beaver Hole.
It was about a 2.5 hr. trip
	Kyle, Tome, Abby, Germy, Dave, Erin, and George were all on  
        the trip
