September 02 2009

Meeting called to order at 8:05 by chairperson Abby Hohn

Financial Status:
- Currently the Grotto has $399.37
- Gayle is updating the banking

Fundraisers:
- Football
       Kyle is contacting Event staffing.

WV Caver:
-We will pay our bill at OTR (we will also check our address to makes sure it is correct)

Beginners' Weekend:
Dates: Sep. 18-20th (Away football game)
Location: Stewart Rec. Area (near Elkins) Tom Lilly will check on prices
Caves:
- Sharps
- Bowden or Sinks of Gandy
- Still House
Dinner: 
-Burgers and hotdogs will be provided on Saturday
Cost:
- $20 for the weekend and membership fee
- $10 for just the weekend

Recruiting and Retention efforts:
- John H. will put together a flyer and John T. will print
 	This flyer will be used to answer common questions asked by beginners.
- Post flyers at Adventures Edge
- We will also be putting flyers in Dorms
- Advertising while doing Vert. Practice
        Gayle will put together the masterpiece.

Grotto Gear:
- Will continue to be stored in Kyle M.'s garage.
- John T. will update us on the Grotto Library

Trips:
- OTR Sep 3–6 Beverly, WV
-Beaverhole Sep 13th (Sunday) 
	Meet time: 2pm
	Place: TBA
This is a short fun cave good for beginners and is a day trip
- Beginners Weekend Sep. 18-20th Elkins, WV

Vertical Practice:
- First practice is Wednesday the 9th at the Student Rec. Center at 5pm
-A Thursday practice may be added; it will be at the same place, same time.
	Please makes sure you are wearing closed toe shoes and comfortable clothing

Caving:
- Dave will have web master link FWS sight to the grotto sight and the gear list when John H. finishes it.

After the slide show we continued introductions and answered questions.

Meeting was adjourned at 8:59 pm.
