Maize Maze: Proposed date: Wed. Oct. 29 *Abby H needs to get in contact with the people at Rich's Farm to see if we can work out a similar arrangement to what we had last year. Trip Reports: Windy Slope- Oct. 8 Russ, Mike, Nikki G, Rich F, Kyle M, Abby H, Mat, Tom L, Peter, and Brian M. While Brian did not go into the cave he led the group all of the way to the entrance. We got slimed at the entrance and went all the way to the back to see the formation room. There were two pure beginners on the trip, who did well. While we were in cave Brian went trail running, but got scared and went back to the car early. And on our way back Rich F got Gold bonded. Bear Cave- Oct 12 Gayle S, Anastasia H, Jon T This cave was mostly walking with a bit of chimneying and climbing envolved. They climbed back through the keyhole, reached some break down and came back out. SEC- Oct 4 John H, Nikki G, Kyle M, Gayle S, Abby H We went back past the the QTR survey to check out some leads. John, Gayle, and Kyle did some surveying, while Nikki and Abby worked on a dig. Abby and Nikki didn't get through, but the others left what looked like promising passage to be surveyed in the future. On our way out we swung by the Acoustic Persistance Chamber and the Rubicon. SEC- Oct 11 Brian M, John H, Kyle M, Abby H We went back to continue the survey, which we had left the week before. Brian got sidetracked on the way, going downstream instead of upstream. He saw some pretty nasty passage, but you'll all have to ask him about that. The lead turned into tight canyon and died on us. However, the good news is the work people did in SEC this past weekend put the cave over 4 miles long. Greenbrier County- Jon T went tubing down the Greenbrier, searching for new springs. And he did find a major spring. The next day he went to check out an abandoned railroad tunnel with a cave at each end.
