Also the letter needs to remind people about WNS and to clean your gear appropriately. They should be referenced to the WNS site. We still need updates from Brian M. and Kyle for YTR. YTR List of things to do / bring - we need to bring grotto t-shirts. - firewood. If there's wood down, we might just chainsaw it there. john will contact john pearson about it. - Name Tags - enough for the first night - Food - each grotto will bring its own food - we'll chip in for a grotto meal - so bring a few bucks to go towards that. - first aid kit - Jessica will bring it for the weekend. - grotto helmets and gear - need to be brought - WATER - John will bring jugs. - John T. will be down early Friday and take money. - each grotto must provide for its own beverages. - Other people are welcome to come on our grotto trips, but we will not specifically lead grotto trips for other grottos. - YTR MUST HAVE A SIGN IN AND SIGN OUT BOOK. - we should also post the Greenbrier rescue numbers (see WV Caver) - We'll also post the 'closed cave list' for Greenbrier county and Pocahontas County. - Vertical Rodeo - no change - Gear Locker - no change - MAR - Anyone want to lead a trip(s)? Everyone is VERY excited. - BANFF Film Festival - will be coming back to Morgantown in early April. The film portion is April 3, with the local version on the 18th. http://www.chestnutmtnproductions.com/banff/morgantownhome.htm - the Maiden Run Survey has been permanently shelved in favor of a nicer Tucker County cave to survey (such as Confluence Cave). The tucker county survey is almost done with their guidebook on the county and they could really use some help with getting these last caves done. Its a great opportunity to learn to survey and help a long-term project. OFFICER ELECTIONS - we only have 5 meetings left this semester so we need to think about next year's leadership. Elections will be held on April 23rd. Anyone who is a WVU student, has a GPA of 2.5 and is willing to become an NSS Member is elligible to be an officer. So think of who would like to lead the grotto next year (or if you would like to be an officer). - Sleep Out on the mountain lair green tonight, for Habitat for Humanity Woo hoo! - There is a new rope at the mountain lair. Trip Reports: Agony Trip Report - Thad Tom(s), Anastasia, Ann Finley and Nicole did the Agony and survived and had lots of fun! Downstream Druid - Dave, Brian and John H. went to do the downstream end of the cave. It was nasty, friable, muddy, hurty, painful limestone passage. Who wants to go back?? They also helped Aaron do a surface resurvey over the caves. Kleins Gap Cave - Gayle, Josh and John H. visited this cave with bottomless pits which others might call large slopes and not pits at all. New, brighter lights may be in order. They also looked at a ls mine near Keyser.
