Business Meeting was called to order at 7:36 by chairperson John Harman. -- Old Business -- Financial Report: We have $795.45 in the bank. We're also paid up on bills :) Student Grant: Kyle has indeed found the Student Grant. He gave a run down of what we still need to do. We're hoping to present the darn thing in the next month or two. The deadline for grants is May 15th. Kyle gets one more week to tinker with it and then John H. will go type it up. Grotto Gear Locker: John H. tried to purchase the big storage containers, but they were out. He'll keep looking, though. YTR Update: John T explained that YTR is starting to grow legs and we'll probably be at Bubble Cave (this may change). John H. suggested that we put something into the Caver. Maiden Run Survey: We'll redo the 'Learn to Survey' class at 6pm next Wednesday at the Arboretum Parking lot. Everyone who wants to learn should show up. The Maiden Run Survey itself will alternate between Tuesdays and Thursdays. We'll have a sign up sheet on the Listserve. Dave R. has volunteered to set that up. We'll have our first survey trip on Feb 5th. Meet at the Mountain Lair at 5:30 and our next survey on Feb 7th. Grotto Flag: No report -- New Business -- Dad-Stal Outdoor Club - Tom Lily is leading a Beaverhole trip for the Outdoor Clubs of the dorms and looking for people to help lead. The trip will be on Feb 10th. Verical Practices - John H. proposed we move Vertical practice to Thursdays. Kyle seconded the motion. -- Upcoming Trips -- Beginner Trip - To kick off the new semester, we'd like to hold another Beginner cave trip. Kyle is willing to lead a trip to Beaverhole on Feb 1 at 7pm. Meet at the Rec Center. Scott Hollow (Jan 26th): Is still on for this weekend. Scott Hollow is NSS Members only. Another trip - likely to Organ Cave will be offered that weekend as well. We'll be staying down at Ben's house. Directions and times will be posted to the listserve. Vertical Rodeo (Feb 3rd): No report. Rich Finley auctioned off some stuff by asking increasingly obscure questions. -- Trip Reports -- - Brian Masney showed some excellent photos from the Christmas trip to Mexico with Dave Riggs, Mary Schmidt, Aaron Bird, and Dennis Melko. http://flickr.com/photos/masneyb/collections/72157603656358888/ - Three people from the grotto, Dave Riggs, John Harman, and Cullen Hencke, contributed to the Tucker Co. survey and netted 500+ feet of passage in a closed cave.
