WVU Student Grotto Meeting Minutes 12-5-07

There were 10 people present on a snowy evening for the last meeting of
the semester. President John Harman called the meeting to order at 8:03PM

Old Business

- Financial Report - None as treasurer Jessica Morning was absent
- Student Grant - This will be presented to the SGA by the end of January
- Gear Locker - John Harman will purchase action packer tubs over break
to store the grotto gear.
- Mailbox - John Harman will check the mailbox this week.
- Fundraising - CSC has been contacted about basketball games, awaiting
reply
- Christmas Party - We expect approximately 10 people to go to Rich and
Jill's for the grotto Christmas Party. You can bring a serious gift
(under $10) and a gag gift if you like. The festivities will start at
6PM and Rich has posted directions on the listserv.

New Business

- It was decided that the grotto will produce a map of Maiden Run cave.
This will allow new grotto members that are interested in surveying a
chance to get out and survey a real cave.
- Dave Mason made a motion that the grotto pay for approximately six
bolts and hangers to re-rig Maiden Run as the current hardware is
dangerously rusted. The motion was seconded by Tom Lilly and passed
without opposition.
- There will be no meeting next week as it is finals. However, there
will probably be an informal gathering at the Black Bear on Wednesday.
Check the listserv for details.
- The next official meeting will be January 16, 2008.


Trip Reports
- Dave Mason gave a trip report on the Tuesday night trip to Maiden Run.
Dave Riggs has posted a trip report online [1]. Excellent pictures by
Brian Masney posted here [2].
