Date: Fri, 13 Apr 2007 10:20:23 -0400 From: "David A. Riggs" Subject: 2007-04-11 WVUSG Meeting Minutes Minutes from the 11 April, 2007 meeting of the WVU Student Grotto. There were 9 people in attendance at this week's meeting. 1. This Saturday, April 14, John Harman is taking a large youth group into Bowden Cave. If interested in helping out, contact John [1]. [1] "John Harman" 2. Also this Saturday, the Monongahela Grotto is doing their Adopt-A-Highway pickup on the route in front of Bowden Cave. It's usually a quick and easy pickup. Afterwards, they're visiting Harr Cave #2, a very nice, easy, and pretty cave in Tucker County. Meet at the Bowden Cave parking lot at 9:30am, contact Doug McCarty [2]. [2] "Doug McCarty" 3. Next weekend (April 21) is JMU's [3] Spring Fling at the Bat Ranch, near Blacksburg VA. Looks like nobody from WVU is going. [3] http://www.math.jmu.edu/~MUSG/ 4. Also next weekend (April 21) is Tucker County Survey - we're going back into Bennett Cave to finish up the survey and climb the waterfall. Meet in Parsons at 9am, contact Doug McCarty. 5. Spring VAR planning people will meet on Sunday at 1pm, contact Dave Riggs [4] if interested in helping. [4] "David A. Riggs" 6. It was decided that we'll try to hold some sort of proper banquet this coming winter. 7. President Kyle McMillan volunteered to go talk to the Student Govt. people to get more details on grant money. He also was going to get a definitive answer on selling pizza on campus for fundraising. Kyle is apparently faster than me [5]. [5] http://groups.yahoo.com/group/wvusg/message/3321 8. It's that special time of the year again... election time. If you would like to run for grotto office or would like to nominate someone, you must be at the next meeting (April 18). Voting will be held at the following (April 25) meeting. Officers must be WVU students and must be (or become) NSS [6] members. [6] http://caves.org/info/member.shtml - DR -- David A. Riggs
